Don Upton founded Upton Heating & Air Conditioning in 1983. For over 40 years, we’ve proudly served residential clients throughout Sacramento and San Joaquin County.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Don managed a team of service technicians and a fleet of vehicles with nothing more than a landline, a dispatch board, and paper invoices. As the years passed, he scaled back but remained dedicated to his loyal customers, personally taking calls well into his mid-80s.
As Don’s eyesight began to fade, he often turned to Matthew Hegenbart for assistance. Don trusted no one more with his customers and eventually offered to sell Matt the business for just one dollar. In 2014, Matt took the reins, and the rest is history.
Don passed away in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. In 2023, Upton Air officially became Upton Home Services. Today, we honor Don’s old-school values while continuing to serve our community with the same commitment to excellence. At Upton, we’re more than just tradesmen—we’re local people-serving our neighbors.
